Dear Ivē,
Rome has taken me.
Please forgive this.
I needed more than
Silence and solitude.
I want to talk to you again
Although,
I can hardly find one useful word.
Most need hope that hasn’t been lost,
Unfortunately,
That would not be anything
That comes from you.
Poems have risen in the meantime.
So much time has passed.
Please don’t hold it against me.
I wanted my answer to
Come to you
Out of a peaceful place.
I don’t want you to be with me,
When you should be happy
For yourself.
In one solitary
And courageous reality,
May the coming year
Strengthen you.
Always yours.
